Afordita

Afordita was known to be a pharmacist back in Albania. She has now been residing in the UK for about 4 years. Unfortunately, she has faced issues getting documentation from Albania institutions that were no longer in operation, passing IELTS, paying an expensive Oversea Pharmacists conversion (OSAP), and securing pre-registration pharmacy post. 

Abdel Nour

Abdel was forced to leave Egypt due to political unrest, acquired network and referenced through placements. His profession was a UX Designer, Software Developer back in Egypt. Now, he is taking up coding courses paid for by Makers Academy and is in search of a new long-term job. 

 

Biniam

Biniam previously worked as an Electrical and Electronic Engineer in Eritrea. When he arrived in the UK, his Eritrean degree was not recognised by employers and most recruitment agencies require minimum of 3 years of UK work experience. 

Negasi

Negasi is a 19-year-old student from Ethiopia and he has been in the UK since 2015. With the lack of education, Negasi is looking to obtain a degree and an English course in order to further  improve his qualifications to apply for employment. 

Ragar

Ragar is from a Middle Eastern country with a degree and masters, along with 7 years of engineering experience. Unfortunately, due to political instability, he had to flee the country. Ragar has been in the UK for more than 3 years now but still face problems finding a job because of the lack of UK job market knowledge.   

Kamil

Kamil is a gentleman of Syrian origin who worked as a dentist before fleeing to the UK. He has the necessary skills and expertise to practice dentistry in the UK. However, he was out of work and was acting as a locum dentist's assistant. This job was neither permanent nor suitable for his skill level. Due to the high nature of his skills, it would be appropriate for him to retrain as a UK dentist.
